He was Chief of Staff of the United States Army during the 1930s and played a prominent role in the Pacific theater during World War II. He received the Medal of Honor for his service in the Philippines Campaign, which made him and his father Arthur MacArthur, Jr., the first father and son to be awarded the medal.

4-2-17 9:45 AM EST: "In 1962, President Kennedy established SEAL Teams ONE and TWO from the existing UDT Teams to develop a Navy Unconventional Warfare capability. The Navy SEAL Teams were designed as the maritime counterpart to the Army Special Forces “Green Berets.” They deployed immediately to Vietnam to operate in the deltas and thousands of rivers and canals in Vietnam, and effectively disrupted the enemy’s maritime lines of communication.

April 9, 1865 Robert E. Lee Surrenders to Ulysses S. Grant!

4-9-17 6:03 PM EST: "At Appomattox, Virginia, Confederate General Robert E. Lee surrenders his 28,000 troops to Union General Ulysses S. Grant, effectively ending the American Civil War. Forced to abandon the Confederate capital of Richmond, blocked from joining the surviving Confederate force in North Carolina, and harassed constantly by Union cavalry, Lee had no other option.

Day 77! 59 Tomahawk Missiles! Swift Response to Gas Attacks!

4-7-17 9:24 AM EST: Let's get up to speed on the events of last evening. U.S. Navy ships launched 59 Tomahawk missles. These were highly precise targeted strikes. Russia was given a heads-up warning. The chemical stockpiles themselves were not targeted. Russia did not activate their air defense systems, and the airfield where the U.S. says those chemical weapons attacks came from were rendered unusable.

On September 19, 2010, while clearing a path for United States Army Rangers in Kandahar, he took a wrong step into an IED along the road.
