All About What and Who We Are! Saturday Night Music with Brew!

2-25-17 8:00 PM EST: Mrs Brew's swirling around in our kitchen like the beautiful baking brunette she is. She's making parmesan and panko-crusted portobello planks, mushroom, pepper, and onion-studded bacon cheeseburgers on onion buns with a special blue cheese sauce she concocts. There's some Americanism in that meal, and I plan on putting it where my mouth is, if you know what I mean. It'll be where my stomach is while we play music.

It's an Alpena, Lake Huron, Thunder Bay River Melt Down.

2-19-17 7:00 PM EST: Ever feel blue but in a good way? Light blue, medium blue, royal and navy blue too? Well, there be some serious blues in this set of pictures I snapped today, and all the above are represented. Greys, blacks, whites and browns to boot. But since it's still February and still North Michigan, there's precious little green if any at all. Some very nice sun sparkles though. I hope you notice those. In one of the videos, and I only have two short ones, there are a couple of ducks that flew in and landed on the river near me. The sparkles around them are exra nice. Beautiful bling.

The State of Music in Our Time! Friday Night Music with Brew!

2-24-17 8:00 PM EST: The weather was fairly scary this morning when Mrs Brew drove off to work. Heavy wet snow was coming down pretty hard but she drove very slowly. During the next hour between 5:30 and 6:30 AM snow had accumulated to about 3 inches. Then it started raining little iceballs like it's doing again right now, with thunder mixed in. Unusual. Each little piece of ice is about half the size of a tic tac, or the size of one of those little Swiss Miss hot chocolate marshmallows.

Hey Brew! What's Tonight's Music Theme? The Friday Night Kind!

2-17-17 8:00 PM EST: Our extended weather forecast up through March 1 shows daily high temps in the 40's and upper 30's. That's unusual. Ice fishing has nearly been a complete bust this year. On the other hand, everytime I think I might have to call a professional snow removal guy, we get enough melting to bring the snow level back down low enough to traverse our driveway with a low ground clearance 2-wheel drive buggy. Unusual indeed, but very welcome.

An American Story, A Canadian Story Teller. Stuart McLean by Las

2-16-17 7:00 PM EST: Today is a really sad day in Canada. Stuart McLean is dead. Last November McLean was diagnosed with melanoma. He died yesterday at 68 years of age.

Who is Stuart McLean? McLean was Canada's master story teller. In an age of Twitter and YouTube, McLean was a throwback to the days of Radio. I won't say absolutely everybod...but it seems like absolutely everybody in Canada has at some time or another sat listening to McLean’s radio show The Vinyl Cafe on CBC Radio.

I would catch The Vinyl Cafe in the car after tuning in to CBC just to see what CBC was not reporting. When the commie leftwing CBC was not doing their commie leftwing political "reporting", their other programming could be rather decent. Some people have a love relationship with the CBC, others have a love hate relationship with the CBC. I on the other hand have a love hate hate hate thing going on with this tax sucking propaganda organ. Stuart McLean's The Vinyl Cafe was one of the few bright spots at the state broadcaster.
